Outpatient Services

Outpatient services are available to help people overcome mental health and emotional problems. These include depression, anxiety, and phobias, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, family problems, grief and loss, anger and aggression, parenting issues, dealing with divorce and other interpersonal problems.

The following services are available :

Psychotherapy – Psychotherapy (counseling) is provided by licensed mental health professionals which includes psychologists and clinical social workers. This includes psychotherapy for an individual, a family, marital/couples, and group psychotherapy. This follows a complete mental health assessment which includes a diagnosis and development of goals for treatment.

Psychological Testing – Kanza offers psychological evaluations by a licensed psychologist. Requests usually come from within the agency or from outside agencies who want information regarding a specific referral question about a client. Examples include basic psychological evaluations consisting of diagnosis clarification and treatment suggestions. Others include Law Enforcement evaluations, court-ordered Competency to Stand Trial evaluations, Competency to Care for self/guardianship evaluations, Psychological evaluations with a parenting component, and intellectual evaluations that also include basic academic skills.

Medication Services – Kanza offers medication management by board certified Psychiatrists and a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Following a complete mental health assessment, clients referred for medication services will be assessed for possible prescription of psychotropic medication. The Medical Staff also monitors these medications through regular medication check appointments.
