A Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) is a specially-designated clinic that provides comprehensive mental health and substance use services. These clinics are designed to ensure access to coordinated, high-quality behavioral health care for anyone who needs it, regardless of their ability to pay, place of residence, or age.

As a proud Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) and Community Mental Health Center (CMHC), we're dedicated to providing comprehensive behavioral healthcare services to youth, adults, and families, tailored to meet the diverse needs of our community in Brown, Doniphan, Jackson, and Nemaha counties. We welcome and serve individuals and families from all walks of life and backgrounds. From counseling and therapy to psychiatric care and substance abuse treatment, our experienced care team is here to support you on your journey toward health and wellness. At our center, we believe in the power of community and the importance of holistic care. By integrating mental health, substance use, and primary care services, we're breaking down barriers and creating a supportive environment where individuals and families can thrive.

History

Kanza was first established as a Community Mental Health Center in 1963 in Hiawatha, Kansas and grew to serve Brown, Doniphan, Jackson, and Nemaha counties. Kanza has maintained its Community Mental Health Center license over the years and has recently established itself as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic in 2024, which allowed has allowed us to expand our services to provide an even wider continuum of care to children, families, and individuals.

Through support, education, and guidance, we foster a community where mental wellness is a priority, stigma is eliminated, and everyone receives the care they need to thrive.

Access To Care

As part of our dedication to inclusivity, we offer language translation services at no cost to the individual, ensuring that language differences do not hinder access to our services.

Kanza is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, and provides services to individuals of all ages and disabilities, regardless of residence or ability to pay for services. We proudly serve Armed Services Members, Veterans, and Families. For individuals or families who may need financial assistance because of lack of health insurance, Kanza provides a sliding fee scale and is happy to work with you in setting up a payment plan (see Your Care page).
